When he said “theyre not special, theyre starving!” I was freaked out. In my opinion I think they should have played really really quietly in the back round midnight the stars and you but I don"t know maybe it would distracted the people from listening to the conversation. Wait, In the book Abra has blue eyes and blond hair.

Doctor sleep watch movie. This scene is incredible and trippy. Mike Flanagan would be perfect for Doctor Strange 2. Obi Wan vs Pennywise. I know its different from the book, but I love this version of Danny and his father. You feel this tension in your heart as Danny has to look at his father who tried to kill him, but nothing changes the fact hes his father. I just finished watching this movie, and I will say! I loved the Sh!t out of it. Every minute had me interested! That woman deserved what she had coming to her! And I honestly can"t see any better way of her dying! By the dreadful hungry spirits of our one true horror loved hotel. I grew up with The Shining as my favourite horror film, and still love it today. Can anything live up to that masterpiece? Well, no. But Dr Sleep is a good attempt.
However, I think you can almost spot the points in the narrative where this has been re-moulded into a Shining sequel. It feels to me that someone, somewhere, looked over Stephen Kings shoulder, and spotted the opportunity to change a character to Danny Torrance, and slide the Overlook Hotel in for maximum recognition. Hey presto, it"s the Shining 2!
So, the bits that work best are the non Shiningy bits. When Danny IS Dr Sleep, helping people pass happily. When he"s communicating through his blackboard. His friendships. Here the film is lovely, spookily, but lovely. Where it struggles is when it feels the need to be a Shining sequel.
Rebecca Ferguson is brill, even if her accent is all over the UK at times, and Ewan McGregor is better than he"s been in years. Oh and in the age of de-aging CGI, the use of look-alikes took me out of the story.
Cracking film, lots of fun, beautifully shot, but for me should have been kept separate to truly shine.

My college theater club put on RedRum, a play adaptation of the Shining, the week before Doctor Sleep came out. We all went to see it together. I tell ya, the only theater experience I"ve had that compares is Avengers: Endgame. We were cheering our heads off at every single reference. And when Danny says They"re not special. They"re STARVING! I just shouted OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, YOU GONNA GET IT NOW BITCH. Ah, memories. Watching this just brings a smile to my face every time. Watch Movie Doctor sleep apnea.
